Vientiane Kitchen

Going to a new restaurant on your date with the lovely Thai girl you meet at Thaidatefinder.com can be daunting because you just don’t know what to expect. There’s always a slight bit of risk in eating at a place you’ve never been to because you can’t be sure of the quality of the food or atmosphere. That’s why I’m here to tell you all about Vientiane Kitchen so you’ll know exactly what you can look forward to.

Inside the two-storey Northeastern Thai style building of Vientiane Kitchen, you’ll find a colorful menu infused with both Thai and Laotian delicacies, which means it will be familiar territory for your date and at the same time the two of you can try some exotic flavors from Laos.

The cheerful and service-minded staff is fluent in English, Thai and Japanese and will guide you through your dining experience with ease. Named after the capital of Lao, Vientiane Kitchen boasts a hefty 33 varieties of som tam (spicy papaya salad). Ever dish originates from ancient Isaan recipes, which means you better be prepared with a fire extinguisher if you can’t handle the spiciness! This kitchen won’t tone down the hotness level unless you specifically ask for it. For heat-intolerant palates, we recommend sticking to the grilled chicken or the restaurant’s famous deep-fried duck beak as  non-spicy alternatives.

Other than the eclectic cuisine, you and your date will also enjoy a show with some classical Thai dancing and an artistic mock sword fight followed by the Thai-Isaan music of Ponglang band. It’s impossible not to get in the spirit of this country’s charming tradition while sitting on genuine Thai mats on the floor at low tables, which will surely add to your Thai dating experience. It makes for the perfect escape from Bangkok’s bustling metropolis to the earlier days of colonial-era luxury. We’re sure it will be an unforgettable night of time-travelling for you and your sweetheart.
